Behind the Scenes at the Opera

Opera Theatre
Between two arms of the Moselle, Opera Metz is
one of the oldest theaters in France.  Built between
1738 and 1752 in a classic style with Tuscan influence from
the plans of architect Jacques Oger.
While anyone can see to beautiful facade of the opera,
built on the island of Little Saulcy, not many see the inner
workings of the theater.  This Saturday we went on
a tour of the 750 seat opera. This theater is the oldest
still operating in France and also one of the last to have its
own workshops where costumes and sets  are created.
