| fresh eggs from a neighbour in Lessy |
This morning, I opened the door to the hallway
and saw Marie, Rachel's mom, walking by---
on her way out to "faire les courses."(do shopping)
"Would like some fresh eggs?""Sure," I said.
Thirty minutes later, Marie knocked on our door,
presented with me with half a dozen eggs and said,
"1 euro 55 centime." I opened the carton and lo and behold, discovered a feather. Now that is what I call fresh.
A woman just down the street from us has hens. I need
to go meet the mothers of this very important crêpe ingredient.
Speaking of crêpes, I met Tonya in Metz today
at the St. Malo Crêperie.
There must be 50 different
crêpes on the menu. Salty, sweet and
even drizzled with liquor then set on fire.
This menu is an example of the many crêpes flambées ;
I resisted the temptation for a crêpe flambée as I was driving
and about to pick up Alec from school! Next time I visit
Tonya I'll have to take the bus into town.
