Happy New Year and Good Health to all.
Food, and of course Champagne
were the central theme
around which we gathered to
celebrate with friends and ring
in the New Year.
Rachel and Gilles hosted a wonderful
fête...

We ate the salmon on blinis with crème fraiche,

Along with the seafood we also tasted fois gras with fig jam.
A meal in France would not be complete
without a cheese platter presented at the
end of the meal.
And of course desserts that looked like they
could walk down any Paris fashion runway.

This disappeared rather quickly.
I am hoping Tonya will practice making
this all year so we can sample the results.

At midnight we lit sparklers, toasted with champagne
and finished off the dessert.
Thank you Rachel and Gilles for a wonderful evening.
It is 1:30 p.m here in Lessy on January 1st.
Jeff is already having his first nap!
In thanksgiving for 2011 and in hope that 2012
will bring many blessings to all.
