It is 10:30 p.m. on a school night, too late
to be blogging. Suffice to say Alec made it
through his first day. I met with Monsieur
Loizeau this morning regarding Alec's schedule.
Rachel was with me. When Alec returned home with
stories of his day Rachel said "he was in the completely
wrong class!" Rachel added, "typically French, if
they can make it difficult, they will." Rachel
was spoiled with the American school system
for three years.
Tomorrow, Ludo will ask that Alec be changed to another
class. Rachel wrote a letter which I rewrote in my
handwriting asking for "more Spanish, less English."
I know, a bit confusing because we are in France.
I will try to copy his schedule because you need to
see this. There are 4 children's schedule we need to
manage and not one has the same schedule even though
three of them go to the same school. They start between
8 or 9, depending on the day and finish between 4:00 and
6:00, again, depending on the day.
When I asked Alec about his day he said in English
class he had to stand in front of the class and
answer questions; in English of course.
"I didn't have a clue what some of my classes were!"
Finally, how was your day Alec. "Pretty good, I made a few
new friends." Can't ask for more.
Okay, lights out, photos to come soon.
Thanks for the pictures - always good to see Alec and Piper (and Mr. Brown). And congrats on Alec's first day!
ReplyDeleteAll's well here - ready to Skype when you are. Dinner with Jeff and Titus on Sunday evening was fun - burgers on the grill and good tomatoes.
Thinking of you and wishing you continued good luck. B&K
