Life can be exhausting.

After taking Lisa, Yaelle and Alec to school this
morning I returned to Piper and our apartment.
Piper likes to share her fur;   all over the floors.
I borrowed an "aspirateur", a vacuum cleaner,
from Michel.  After two hours I figured out how to
release the canister, replace it and turn on the machine.
And this had nothing to do with not understanding
the language.  By the time I made it to Rachel I felt like
I had cleaned all day.

Everything seems new;  how the doors lock,
how the shutters need to be closed before
the windows, how the washing machine works,
why the clothes don't dry (you forgot to empty the
water reservoir).  And then there is the  fancy,
German ironing board.  After pushing several
buttons the ironing board cover poofs up while you
iron shirts.  I've only seen this in action and have not
actually used the machine.   While the French iron
most of their clothes, I see no need to
iron in the German fashion anytime soon.

Tonight we go out to eat for our first time.  Oh la la,
what wonderful French restaurant will we visit?
We are going to a Japanese restaurant.
